Abstract

Abstract: This paper focuses on the Parintins Festival as a platform for LGBTQIAPN+ visibility and employability, aiming to describe the process of absorption of the LGBTQIAPN+ population into the artistic labor market of the Parintins Folkloric Festival in Amazonas, Brazil. The guiding research question is: how does the absorption process of the LGBTQIAPN+ population into the festival’s artistic market occur? The hypothesis is that the Parintins Festival acts as an independent variable that positively influences the employability of the LGBTQIAPN+ population, thus representing a positive relationship. The specific objectives are: (a) to conceptualize LGBTQIAPN+ employability; (b) to present the structure and meaning of the Parintins Folkloric Festival; and (c) to highlight the relationship between LGBTQIAPN+ employability and the festival. The methodology is qualitative in nature, based on bibliographic and documentary research. The expected result is to demonstrate that the festival constitutes a space for both identity affirmation and economic inclusion of the LGBTQIAPN+ population, although still marked by structural challenges.
