COMPARAÇÃO DA QUALIDADE DO HÚMUS PRODUZIDO PELAS ESPÉCIES DE MINHOCAS: Violeta do Himalaia (Perionyx excavatus); Vermelha da Califórnia (Lumbricus rubellus) e Gigante Africana (Eudrilus eugeniae), no Município de São Luís – MA.

Abstract

The objective of this work was to compare the quality of humus produced and the adaptation of three different earthworm species (Perionyx excavatus; Lumbricus rubellus and Eudrilus eugeniae) on the climatic and environmental conditions of the municipality of São LUÍS - MA. In the experiment, the raw material used to feed the species was the organic waste generated on the UNICEUMA campuses, added in the proportion of 70% of fibrous material, in garden pruning, and 30% wet material (organic waste) resulting from the institution's school kitchen. The humus produced by the three species were weighed and checked at the end of each cycle for quantitative recording generated. The parameters pH, moisture, organic matter, inorganic matter, as well as percentage of clay, silt and fine sand of the material produced in the vermicompost were analyzed by the three races tested. The three species chosen in the experiment Himalayan Violet (Perionyx excavatus); California Red (Lumbricus rubellus) and African Giant (Eudrilus eugeniae), presented satisfactory development in relation to productive adaptation capacity in the climatic conditions of the municipality of São Luís – MA. Because the humic compounds formed are of good quality, presenting good OM levels; pH; and humidity, in addition to physical characteristics that help in the availability of nutrients for the soil and plants.
