Abstract

Peri-implantitis remains a major challenge in modern implant dentistry, characterized by inflammation and progressive marginal bone loss. Conventional treatment based on mechanical debridement faces limitations due to implant surface morphology and microbial resilience. Adjunctive therapies such as lasers, antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT), and autologous platelet concentrates (PRP, PRF, CGF) have been investigated to enhance decontamination and promote tissue regeneration. This review integrates recent evidence on mechanisms of action, clinical outcomes, and innovations, discussing advantages, limitations, and clinical perspectives.
