Abstract

The Paraná Mais Orgânico Program is a state public policy that promotes organic certification in family farming. The program operates in a regionalized way, with 12 centers distributed throughout the state. This study aims to demonstrate the connections between the Paraná Mais Orgânico Program and the Sustainable Development Goals. The article results from field and bibliographic research and from the analysis of the experiences of the scholarship holders at the UNIOESTE Center in Marechal Cândido Rondon. The activities developed at the UNIOESTE Center include, in addition to providing assistance to farmers, the training of professionals involved in organic production, the distribution of seedlings, and the dissemination of the program. The results show that the Program has been consolidating itself as an important instrument for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals at the state level. This and other public policies of the State, working together, can contribute to the food sovereignty of the population of Paraná, combined with sustainable production.
