This text discusses issues related to the educational context during the pandemic. The methodology is based on a bibliographic review with a qualitative approach, based on authors who discuss the topic, demonstrating the fragility of public education and the challenges faced by teachers, students, and families during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study demonstrated that, to consider equity in education, it is necessary to invest in teacher training, promoting pedagogical knowledge, and also the use of Digital Information and Communication Technologies (DICTs), as it is necessary to equip schools with access to digital technologies. It is essential to strengthen the maintenance and expansion of public and democratic education as a common good, without resorting to personalized, consumerist education based on neoliberal ideas that do not include everyone. The findings lead to reflection on the various educational ideologies and perspectives, thus requiring a comprehensive understanding.
