O USO DE METÁFORAS COMO ESTRATÉGIA ARGUMENTATIVA EM CHARGES POLÍTICAS

This work investigates the role of metaphor as an argumentative strategy in the cartoon genre. In methodological terms, our research is characterized as qualitative and bibliographical. Through the analyzes carried out, we sought to investigate the role of metaphor in critical humor as an argumentative strategy. For data analysis, we used charges about the current moment of Brazilian politics. In the basement we used the following authors: Ribeiro (2007), Lakoff and Johnson (1980), Deleuze and Guattari (2002), Gibbs (1994), Ortony (1993), Bakhtin (1992), Perelman (1999), Moisés (1993), Koch (2011) and Fiorin (2018). We conclude that the metaphor is a tool that contributes to greater empathy between the individual and critical humor, as the diversity of meanings constructed in its occurrence helps the individual to perceive humor as a form of expression of criticism of situations experienced by him and others that are not exactly, since the metaphor is easy to understand, and at the same time, when using it as an argumentative strategy, critical humor becomes accessible to the individual, in addition to being a tool that contributes to the construction of a critical view of the world.
