Abstract

Abstract: The objectives of this study are to analyze the drug and alcohol consumption by men during commercial sexual encounters. A cross-sectional epidemiological study was carried out with descriptive and analytical elements, with male workers of sex in the city of São Paulo, recruited by Respondent Drive Sampling (RDS), between august 2023 to December  2024. It were included 526 cisgender men, of which 56,7% under 30 years old; 88,2% had commercial encounters with men; 41,7% reported a stable relationship, being 87,8% with women. Alcohol consumption was referred by 61,8% and drug consumption represented 35,6% of the sample. The most used drug was weed, 32,7% used it alone and 35,2% used with a client, during sexual encounters. 17% did not adopt preventive measures for HIV. It was concluded that the factors that influence drug use were: having children, use of alcohol and insertive anal sex with women.
