Abstract

The degradation of water quality causes many actions to increase costs for water treatment, especially those destined for supply and domestic use, in which these costs are usually related to chemical products. The present study analyzed the physical-chemical and microbiological characteristics of Igarapé Traíra in the municipality of Ariquemes-RO, presenting the characteristics of the upstream and downstream receiving bodies, associating the system's flow capacity and the values granted by environmental agencies, with reference to CONAMA Resolution nº 357, of March 17, 2005, amended by Resolutions nº. 410/2009 and by 430/2011. It seeks to verify the current status of the quality of its waters, based on its classification and classification. In its trajectory, it receives effluent from domestic sewage. Where the Temperature parameters were analyzed; pH; Turbidity; Escherichia Coli count; Total and Thermotolerant Coliforms. Therefore, in addition to bibliographical research in various sources, on-site research was used in order to collect the materials to be analyzed demarcated as point 1 and 2, and, after collection, the Unifaema University Center laboratory was used to analyze the physical-chemical parameters describing the results found. In view of the information collected and analyzed, it was possible to verify that the values were below the limits established by the Conama resolution 357/2005 for class 2 fresh water. In this sense, it is important that the health authorities take objective measures in order to recover the vegetation in strategic points in Igarapé Traíra. It is necessary to carry out an adequate treatment of effluents, through the Sewage Treatment Station (ETE), in order to reduce environmental impacts and the worst effects that environmental degradation can cause.
