Introdução: Este estudo abordou a relação entre distanciamento social, solidão e desfechos
depressivos em idosos, fenômenos crescentemente relevantes diante do envelhecimento
populacional e da alta carga de transtornos depressivos na velhice. Objetivos: Sintetizar
evidências sobre como distanciamento social e solidão influenciam sintomas e episódios
depressivos em idosos e indicar estratégias factíveis para a Atenção Primária à Saúde (APS).
Metodologia: Realizou-se uma revisão integrativa nas bases LILACS/BVS e SciELO, com
descritores em português, inglês e espanhol relacionados a depressão geriátrica, isolamento
social e solidão, direcionados a idosos residentes na comunidade (2020–2025). Foram
identificados 45 artigos; após critérios de elegibilidade, 19 compuseram a análise crítica.
Resultados: As evidências demonstram que o distanciamento social reduz participação e contato
presencial, enquanto a solidão reflete percepção subjetiva de desconexão; ambos se associam a
vias inflamatórias, disfunções neuroendócrinas e mudanças comportamentais que agravam
sintomas depressivos. Intervenções como prescrição social, exercícios em grupo, ativação
comportamental, inclusão digital, reabilitação auditiva e modelos colaborativos da APS
mostraram efetividade em reduzir solidão e depressão. Considerações finais: Conclui-se que o
enfrentamento da depressão na velhice exige estratégias comunitárias contínuas, integração
intersetorial e expansão territorial de programas existentes, com financiamento estável,
monitoramento de resultados e fortalecimento da APS como coordenadora do cuidado
psicossocial.
